Alan & Teena In England

 Hi everyone,

Well, we had good flights over and didn't really feel like we had very much jet-lag.

We are staying with my sister and brother-in-law in Honiton, Devon. We have been out for a few short walks, mostly in the rain! We thought we would write our blogs and send them in so you can see what we are up to.

5th Sept

The rain was pretty bad all day, so we went for a drive to Exmouth. A lovely little seaside town about 20 minutes away. We had a few things to do in the town and then drove along the seafront. I have included a photo of the beach huts there, not as interesting as the ones we saw in Brighton.

6th Sept

Alan and I went for a walk around Honiton, it was raining all the time and yes, we got very wet! We walked around the back roads and into the town. We went into a cafe for morning tea and thought of you all on your hike the day before. We only had walked 5.4km that day, but it was a start.

7th Sept

After a lovely evening at our friends daughters wedding celebration (they got married in San Francisco), we walked to the Double Locks the following morning with our friends.  A great pub along Exeter Canal. This is a very popular pub as you can walk, cycle or drive there. It gets very busy in the summer and we have been there many, many times. It doesn't seem to change. A wet walk back, 6km walk.

8th Sept

Today it was dry! Alan and I walked into Honiton and out to Coombe Raleigh, a very small village in the country. We managed to get back to my sisters just after it started to rain so we didn't get too wet this time. 8km

We are feeling very relaxed and are enjoying meeting up with our friends again and spending time with my sister and brother-in-law.

We hope you are all well, we miss you all.

Teena and Alan

  1. I'm just looking on the map to see where Honiton is and it looks like you're almost surrounded by Areas Of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You're going to have a fun time exploring such a beautiful area. : - )
